Opposition parties demand release of Batumi detainees. They held a briefing at the city court today and said there was no basis for the arrests.

“Over the past few days, civil activists, politicians, ordinary citizens, and women have been massively, illegally, and violently arrested in Batumi. Two very important members of our coalition and a local leader are currently detained.

We demand their immediate release. In parallel, we are working with our partners to ensure that sanctions are one of the important factors that will push back the violent government”, - said Irakli Kupradze, a member of the Strong Georgia.
