The Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about the expansion of the functions of the Audit Office within the Government Administration and noted that its role will be broadened to oversee not only the administration itself but also the efficiency of the entire government operations.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, a corresponding legislative initiative will be submitted to the Parliament of Georgia in the coming days.

Cooperation between the Government Administration and the State Audit Office [SAO] will be strengthened and real-time audit practices will be introduced. We have already held consultations with the SAO on this matter. The goal of this initiative is to maximize the cost-effectiveness and quality of projects implemented by various ministries”, - said the Prime Minister.
