Georgian customs officers seized GEL 35,162 worth of undeclared gold items on the Sarpi border crossing checkpoint with Turkey.
According to the Revenue Service, the items - weighing in at 255.67 grams - were seized during physical and luggage searches of Georgian and foreign citizens.
The foreign citizens were fined about GEL 16,210 for the offence, with the case handed over to the Investigation Service of the Finance Ministry for further action.
