
The Prime Minister of Georgia announced today that Anri Okhanashvili, the current Minister of Justice, would be nominated for the position of Head of the State Security Service.
As Irakli Kobakhidze added, the nomination followed consultations with the Speaker of the Parliament and the parliamentary majority. The legislature is expected to vote on Okhanashvili’s confirmation this Friday, April, 4.
Okhanashvili is a member of the Georgian Dream. He has served as a member of the 9th and 10th convocations of the Parliament, chaired the Legal Issues Committee, and served on the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee.
