Slovak Prime Minister invites Zelensky to discuss gas transit

Slovak Prime Minister sent a letter to Ukrainian President inviting him to Slovakia for discussions on Kyiv`s recent decision to halt Russian gas transit.

Robert Fico has slammed Volodymyr Zelensky for cutting western Europe off from cheap Russian gas and depriving EU and NATO member Slovakia of hefty transit fees.

Zelensky said earnings from the gas exports helped Moscow finance its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which started in February 2022.

"Allow me to invite you to negotiations, preferably as soon as possible. The meeting may take place on the territory of the Slovak Republic near the state border between Slovakia and Ukraine. In a short message on X, Zelensky replied: "Ok. Come to Kyiv on Friday".
