The Mayor of Tbilisi said it was hard to hear that the former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had not sent his own son to the front as a volunteer while the Ukrainian officials were demanding Georgia’s direct involvement in the war.
“What is happening in Ukraine is truly devastating. The country has lost a significant part of its territories, many soldiers and civilians have died, numerous families have fled. It is very difficult to hear such statements from a former official, admitting he dissuaded his son from volunteering at a time when people were forcibly sent to the front. Simultaneously, we were asked to schedule direct charter flights [with volunteers from Georgia], which was a call for involvement in the war”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
His comments came after Kuleba said he had to convince his 18-year-old son not to go to war in an interview with the BBC.
