What was previously handled by organizations like USAID, NED, and similar entities is now being distributed either through organizations directly funded by Brussels or through various European Union capitals. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.
"Georgia can serve as a litmus test for many issues, and we are already witnessing a shift. The efforts that once came through organizations like USAID and NED, which were recently exposed by the new US administration for fraud and destabilizing activities, are now being redirected through EU-funded organizations or other EU capitals.
This shift represents a diversified attack on the Georgian people, the government, and the country as a whole. We`ve seen these visits where individuals were guided by `puppets` to receive instructions and tasks - this is essentially a test for us. Our stance is clear: the destabilization networks of foreign powers must be eradicated, and they should not simply be rebranded.
What used to be called USAID should not now be called the European Endowment for Democracy, which has been cooperating with organizations like the Estonian Aid Organization, as we are witnessing now.
Several organizations and NGOs have essentially been `re-Estonianized`, with direct control now shifting to other countries. We’ve observed the re-establishment of some organizations and the redistribution of resources that once came through USAID and NED, now funneled through different channels. The goal is clear, and everything we said has been confirmed. Part of the money from foreign donors was indeed used to destabilize Georgia, promote radicalism, extremism, and spread propaganda. We directly pointed to USAID, NED, and others, and it has been confirmed by the US government`s own admission that these organizations were used for destabilization and propaganda efforts.
We also warned about attempts to involve Georgia in a conflict, though we didn`t always address specific facts. While some political leaders or groups denied this, today’s confirmation of these events proves our points. This is a proxy war, as the US Secretary of State admitted. Proxy wars, as you know, are fought by puppets, and this is what certain political groups or leaders abroad wanted.
They became frustrated when we refused to play along, which explains the absurd visa and entry bans. These measures are a response to our refusal to act as puppets. They want to change Georgia’s government, and we see their efforts to raise new `puppets`", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
