Shalva Papuashvili extended his gratitude to Azerbaijan for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and reaffirmed his unwavering support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The parties emphasized the frequency of high-level exchange visits. Shalva Papuashvili highlighted that the Georgian Parliament hosts the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan for her inaugural official visit, which holds symbolic and gratifying significance.
The parliamentary links and the collaboration between the Speakers and the sector Committees were positively evaluated. The parties emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation for further strengthening the ties.
The parties overviewed the situation in the South Caucasus region and underlined the importance of peace and security; the emphasis was placed on the commitment to implementing strategic regional projects.
Sahiba Gafarova invited Shalva Papuashvili to Azerbaijan. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataradze; as well as the Vice-Speakers of the Georgian Parliament - Nino Tsilosani and Ilia Injia; and MPs Savalan Mirzoev, Zaur Dargali, Genrieta Tsitsava, Dimitri Khundadze.
