The Public Defender condemns the attacks on Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, and journalist Zviad Khoridze and calls on investigative agencies to identify those responsible.

“The Public Defender of Georgia condemns assaults on Giorgi Gakharia and journalist Zviad Koridze and calls on the investigative services to identify those responsible and to quickly and fully conduct all investigative and procedural actions, including obtaining video recordings, interviewing witnesses, etc.

The Public Defender considers it important to respond immediately to the above facts so that attacks on politicians and journalists are not incited”, - reads the statement of Ombudsman.
