Maka Botchorishvili meets with her Uzbek counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with her Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, as part of the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Uzbekistan.

The ministers discussed ways to further develop the existing cooperation between the two countries. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing trade and economic relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan. It was notably highlighted that the two countries continue their active collaboration on the development of the “Middle Corridor”, which connects the East and West. The work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Uzbekistan was highly praised.

The meeting also addressed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, humanitarian affairs, education, science, and sports. Particular attention was given to enhancing tourism exchanges between the two nations.

The ministers also discussed security challenges in the region, emphasizing the importance of promoting peace. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

At the conclusion of the talks, both parties expressed their readiness to further deepen the partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
