Prime Minister unveils Tbilisi Ice Arena

Georgian Prime Minister, together with the Tbilisi Mayor, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and the Minister of Sports, unveiled the Tbilisi Ice Arena.

The Head of Government familiarized himself with the new arena and was briefed in detail on implemented work by Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze.

The Tbilisi Ice Arena will host the 2025 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival this coming February, namely competitions in hockey, figure skating, and curling.

Irakli Kobakhidze thanked the Ministry and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and the Municipal Development Fund, for implementing the project in a short timeline while maintaining the highest quality.

“The Ice Arena was built in a year, albeit mostly for the European Youth Olympic Festival, the city and the country will keep this infrastructure nonetheless. The project"s implementation meets the highest quality requirements and contemporary standards, and it will promote the further development of the relevant sports”, - said the Prime Minister.

The international-standard Tbilisi Ice Arena incorporates an ice rink, stands accommodating 700 spectators, a training facility, and choreography, recreation, medical, and conference halls. The Ice Arena is equipped with the latest international-standard technologies, with installation provided by a Czech company. The design and construction of the Ice Arena was financed with 29.2 million GEL from the state budget.
