Georgian and Armenian Foreign Ministers highlight the Importance of strategic partnership

Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, paid her first official visit to the Republic of Armenia.

As part of the visit, Minister Botchorishvili held both bilateral and expanded-format meetings with her Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan.

During the discussions, Minister Botchorishvili underscored the significance of her first official visit to Armenia in this role and expressed gratitude to Minister Mirzoyan for his warm hospitality.

Both sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted friendship between Georgia and Armenia and emphasized the importance of their strategic partnership.

It was highlighted that the Georgia-Armenia Strategic Partnership Declaration has further strengthened the exceptional ties and cooperation between the two countries, elevating them to a new level.

The discussions also emphasized economic and trade partnerships, as well as the strong tourism ties, with Armenia ranking third among the top sources of visitors to Georgia.

In this context, the Georgia-Armenia Intergovernmental Economic Commission was highlighted as a vital platform for fostering multidimensional cooperation and maintaining a regular dialogue.

The discussion also addressed regional developments, existing challenges, and emerging opportunities. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Maka Botchorishvili extended an invitation to Ararat Mirzoyan to visit Georgia at his convenience. As part of the visit, she will also participate in the session of the Georgia-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries.
