If the unjust and inappropriate practices within European bureaucracy come to an end, we will resume work in the PACE - Kobakhidze

Georgia will resume its engagement in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe [PACE] if the unjust and inappropriate practices within European bureaucracy come to an end. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Nothing holds value, not even the truth. Look at the absurd amendments they introduced to the resolution, which was approved by approximately 140 votes. Under these conditions of injustice and ongoing issues, our participation in PACE becomes futile. We made a decision, which we consider non-negotiable, to suspend our work.

Georgia will re-engage with PACE only if the unfair and incorrect practices that we currently observe in European bureaucracy are resolved. As of now, our involvement feels meaningless”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
