The President of Georgia - Mikheil Kavelashvili presented the State Award of Georgia - Orders of Honor to Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri, First Deputy Minister- Shalva Bedoidze, Deputies - Ioseb Chelidze, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Giorgi Butkhuzi for their exceptional contribution to strengthening the law and order.
The award ceremony, which was held at the President"s residence, was attended by Prime Minister of Georgia - Irakli Kobakhidze and Chairman of the Georgian Parliament - Shalva Papuashvili.
The Director of Tbilisi Police Department - Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Director of Patrol Police Department - Vazha Siradze, Director of Central Criminal Police Department -Teimuraz Kupatadze, Director of Special Tasks Department - Zviad Kharazishvili, as well as the Deputy Directors of the same department: Milleri Lagazauri and Mirza Kezevadze were also awarded with Orders of Honor.
Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed his gratitude towards the awardees and each police officer for serving the country.
“Strong Georgian police force is a symbol of a strong and sovereign state. It is a guarantee that order will be preserved in the country. Wearing a police uniform is the privilege of only those worthy people who are ready to sacrifice their own lives without hesitation to save others. The contribution made by each police officer to our country is invaluable.
Your tireless work, vigilance and dedication ensure the bright future for our children and grandchildren.
You are people who, despite the difficulties, completely fulfill the duty, assigned by the Georgian state and the Georgian people - to protect order in the country and the security of each of our citizen. You are people who daily defend the cherished idea of the homeland - which is called Georgia. That is why I would like to award you with the Order of Honor for your exceptional contribution to strengthening law and order. I wish you a united, strong and successful life in Georgia! ”- noted the President of Georgia.
Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed gratitude towards the President of Georgia, the Prime Minister, as well as the Chairman of the Parliament for the award received. The Minister also thanked the police officers and the entire personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

I assure you, this is a great honor for all of us. I cannot but emphasize and highlight your daily support and reinforcement felt by each police officer, both by privates and us - leaders, which is very important. I would like to take this opportunity and thank all police officers, entire personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the work that these people do 24 hours a day to protect our citizens and homeland. I would also like to thank their families for their support.
