The Public Defender of Georgia expresses deep sorrow over the tragic incident that occurred in the vicinity of Rike Park in Tbilisi, as a result of which a teenager died.

"This incident is a tragedy for the entire society. We sincerely offer our sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased.

We call on the relevant authorities to conduct a timely and thorough investigation and establish responsibility relating to the incident. The Public Defender’s Office will thoroughly examine this tragic incident, both regarding the preventive/response measures taken by the agencies, as well as the measures taken during the criminal investigation, and will take all appropriate steps", - reads the statement.
