Georgian director Dea Kulumbegashvili’s second feature April world premieres in competition at the Venice Film Festival, before heading to Toronto and New York. The film participates in the main Competition.

The drama about a rural obstetrician-gynecologist who performs illegal abortions for women in need.

The 81st Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and runs on the Lido di Venezia [28 August - 7 September] and is officially recognised by International Federation of Film Producers Association.

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. One section is devoted to enhance the restoration works on classic films as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.
