Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure delivered a speech at the ministerial of the ongoing 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event gathered ministers from UN member states to deliberate on sustainable urbanisation and climate strategies aimed at mitigating climate change impacts.

Irakli Karseladze highlighted the nation’s ongoing efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change while advancing urban development and infrastructure projects.

“Georgia is expanding renewable energy sources and enhancing energy efficiency, aligning with global initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change impacts. The development of infrastructure is critical not only for reinforcing the country’s economy but also for addressing climate change. A comprehensive and balanced approach of the state is necessary amid urbanisation and global climate issues.

Our discussions revolved around balanced approaches to urban renewal, infrastructure development, and the challenges posed by climate change. We shared successful practices and large-scale projects that incorporate environmental considerations and learned from the experiences of other nations”, - said the Minister.
