“I would like to congratulate all of Georgia, all people who are happy with the success of the country’s athletes, on this victory. It is really gratifying that our national team is among the 16 best teams in Europe. We made it to the round of 16, which is very nice. We defeated the Portuguese national team 2:0, and our boys showed the best game. I would like to thank all of them and wish them success in the next match. Also, thanks to all the fans who supported our boys in Germany, Georgia and other countries of the world. There was really a lot of support and enthusiasm.

It is the result of hard work, efforts, determination, which was accompanied by support from the state. When the state allocated funds for the development of football, some politicians and people complained about it. Earlier, stadiums were sold for construction of buildings and business activities.

We have a special love for football, we have a generation of talented players, and with the right policy of the state, we were able to achieve results that were unthinkable even a few years ago. There were many disappointments along the way, but I would like to thank all the people who believed that success was achievable.

This support will, of course, increase even more so that our talented young people will be more interested in this sport and will try to live a healthy lifestyle. Also, I would like to thank the charity foundation “Cartu”, Bidzina Ivanishvili, his family for their important support. As you know, “Cartu” Foundation will give 30 million GEL to the Georgian football team as an award. In case of reaching the next stage, the team will receive an additional 30 million. Georgia, under no circumstances should you stop! Many more victories await us.

All fans who wish to support the national team, we invite you to the stadium named after Mikheil Meskhi. Attendance is free. Six big screens will be installed in the territory, organized by the Tbilisi City Hall and the Georgian Football Federation, and a food zone will be organized outside the stadium. Citizens who will attend the broadcast of the match at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium will be served by buses: N173, N301, N307, N311, N345, N351, N354, N358, N359, N385 and N388 until 02:00 on July 1st”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
