Health Care and Social Issues Committee approved the exemption from the administrative fines imposed on the citizens during the pandemic

The Committee discussed the Draft Law on Exemption from Administrative Fines and approved it for the I reading.

As the reporter, the Deputy Health Minister, Irine Tsakadze noted, the amendments have been introduced to the Code of Administrative Offenses, Articles 42¹⁰ and 42¹¹ of which envisaged the administrative liability for the violation of the isolation and/or quarantine regulations established under the Law on Public Health (2000 GEL for natural persons and 10 000 GEL for legal entities), as well as for the violation of the facemask wearing rules during the pandemic in the open or closed public areas.

“As of present, the pandemic is over and the violation of the isolation and quarantine rules no longer requires a strict response, which was the means of prevention of the offenses committed during the respective period”, - she stated.

As the Draft becomes effective, it will apply to up to 2000 persons – they shall be exempted from the fines which will not be paid for the effective moment of the Law.

The Draft is submitted for summary consideration.
