The Parliament of Georgia starts today the committee discussions of the legislative package “On Family Values and Protection of Minors” [against LGBT propaganda] initiated by the ruling Georgian Dream Party.

The issue will be discussed at the Legal Issues Committee and also at the joint session of 4 committees: human rights and civil integration committee, education, science and youth affairs committee, sectoral economy and economic policy committee, and health care and social issues committee. The legislative package consists of 19 bills.

The author and initiators of the legislative package are Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili and MPs from the majority: Mamuka Mdinaradze, Anri Okhanashvili, Rati Ionatamishvili, Maka Botchorishvili, David Matikashvili, Tengiz Sharmanashvili, Irakli Shatakishvili and Sozar Subari.
