The law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had arrested one person on the charge of premeditated murder of his wife and mother-in-law in Rustavi.

As the agency said, the arrest had been made for “premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances against two family members”.

The investigation had established the arrested offender, 27-year-old man, who was arrested by the police at the scene, had shot the women with a rifle on Nodar Dumbadze Street in the city.

As the witness said, she heard 5 gunshots and found the bodies of a middle-aged woman and a young woman with the alleged shooter. She also added that the deceased women were with a toddler, who was taken by an ambulance.

The crime is punishable by 16 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
