If someone wants to, the government should be changed through elections. This will not be decided by external forces, but by His Excellency the people of Georgia - Kaladze

If someone wants to, the government should be changed through elections. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“Fortunately, freedom of expression is protected in the country today and any person has the opportunity to peacefully express any protest. Unfortunately, we have seen violent forms of protest, behind which are actually radical, revanchist politicians, whose agenda is only to come to power through a coup d"état, because they know exactly that they have no chance through elections, in a democratic, civil way. All radical political parties that are represented in the country today will fight to somehow overcome the electoral barrier, they know this very well.

The law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” has already been adopted in the third reading. This is a completely Georgian law, which must protect the interests of our country, protect the sovereignty of Georgia and protect the country from the influence of foreign forces, from the threat of a coup d"état, so that the population of Georgia can express their will in a peaceful and stable situation, make a choice and decide the fate of the country themselves.

I have said it many times and I will repeat it again, in general, if someone wants to, the government should be changed through elections. This will not be decided by external forces and the intervention of someone from outside, but by His Excellency the people of Georgia. The population of Georgia decides who should be in power and who should not. It was not an easy process”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
