We see parallels with “Maidan”: a wedding couple, a person playing the piano, etc., conducting and staging the same visuals and rituals, this is the packaging of violent actions – Papuashvili

We see direct parallels with “Maidan”: a married couple, a person who plays the piano and others - holding and staging the same visuals and rituals - this is the packaging of violent actions. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament.

“Several months ago, when the investigation into the “Canvas” trainings began, we saw what the scenarios were and what they taught. We see these scenarios playing out. We see direct parallels with “Maidan”. A wedding couple, a person playing the piano, etc. - performing and staging the same visuals and rituals. Such visuals that they create are a certain packaging of the violent actions that take place. It is disappointing that when we saw the attack and storming of the parliament building, unfortunately, the next day we heard the assessment of some foreign actors that it was a peaceful demonstration and the police should not have used force.

We say that they are following exactly the scenario that was implemented in other countries, and these parallels with Ukraine are very clear. We see their mistake when they talk about sacrifice. Behind all this is the [United] National Movement with its patrons and financiers, from outside the country, and the goal is to change the government…

This protest is not a protest of the opposition. When this project was initiated, you remember what the first days were like, discussions, reactions from the opposition, we did not see any big protests, among them they said that we will go to the elections and this question will be answered through the elections. Only after they received a signal from the outside, from their patrons and financiers, they started this protest, which we can see as the goal, and today’s statement of the SUS confirms exactly that, that the goal is to develop a violent scenario and implement a project similar to “Maidan” in Georgia”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
