Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Minister of Health, met with representatives from dialysis service providers and the Association of Dialysis, Nephrology, and Kidney Transplantation.

According to the Ministry, the parties discussed the development of dialysis services, examined the challenges facing the sector, explored potential solutions.

As Mikheil Sarjveladze underlined, it is important to ensure geographical accessibility to dialysis services while focusing on the continuous improvement of these services to protect patients’ best interests.

The meeting also addressed critical issues such as the financing of dialysis services, equipment renewal, the establishment of a unified treatment protocol, remuneration for medical personnel, and their ongoing education.

The attendees agreed that active efforts in these areas will persist.

Working groups will be formed, comprising representatives from the sector and the ministry, to develop necessary changes shortly to enhance the quality of medical services.
