An accident in Marneuli, in which 2 minors died, resulted in a confrontation - locals overturned the cars involved in the accident and the ambulance, says the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“We would like to provide the public with additional information regarding the developments in the village of Nakhiduri, Bolnisi municipality.

After a traffic accident occurred on the central highway, as a result of which 2 minors died, the local population gathered on the spot and the situation became tense.

Confrontation took place between the citizens gathered on the spot, as well as between the citizens and the law enforcement officers who were present at the site to protect public order.

The gathered citizens overturned the vehicle involved in the collision, as well as the car of the emergency medical aid crew.

Also, they damaged and broke vehicle windows of other citizens on the spot.

The gathered people did not allow the passengers of the vehicles involved in the traffic incident to leave the place and also prevented the law enforcement officers from conducting investigative actions, they also did not allow medics of emergency medical aid to work.

In order to de-escalate the situation, representatives of various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including employees of the patrol, criminal police and special tasks departments, immediately arrived at the scene”, - reads the statement of MIA.
