The press conference of the international missions made it clear that there are no doubts and question marks regarding the legitimacy of the elections, on the contrary, it was emphasized that it was a competitive election. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, while talking about the press conference held by international observation missions.
“We were listening to the press conference, which was held with the participation of the heads of observation missions.
This press conference made it clear that there are no doubts or question marks regarding the legitimacy of the election, on the contrary it was emphasized that it was a competitive election and overall, of course, the overall assessment reflects the picture that is given - the election was competitive, in compliance in all respects was with the electoral principles.
All this is absolutely logical, the statements that were made. In addition, it should be emphasized that the speakers used specific terms when evaluating these elections and processes, they were talking about the elected government, I am quoting the government elected yesterday, which directly means, of course, recognizing the elections as completely legitimate. This is, of course, very important.
I would like to thank everyone for their involvement in the International Monitoring Mission. You know that we started inviting international observers to Georgia since February. We were absolutely open to observation, based on the fact that we wanted to hold absolutely free, competitive, democratic elections, and that is what our openness was based on. Elections are held! In the near future, the results of the elections will be summarized by the CEC, the 1st session of the Parliament will be held and the stable development of the country will continue, which is the main interest of each of our citizens”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
