Opposition party representatives are seeking to provoke or create an impression that something serious was happening at the polling stations. Suxh a statement made Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream.
“Where there is no presence of the United National Movement’s media, everything is proceeding normally. However, where the representatives of the [UNM-affiliated] media appear, an apocalyptic picture is painted. But Georgian voters will not get dragged into this.
I firmly urge everyone not to react to any provocation or misconduct by others. We need to calm the situation, and I ask our supporters at every level to help maintain and promote a peaceful environment to the fullest extent.
Everything is going very well. We need maximum turnout, so that not a single supporter stays home. If even 5-10% of our voters think, I’ll stay home, it could result in an entirely different picture, as this involves hundreds of thousands of people - unlike supporters of other parties. We must remember that this is a referendum between Georgian, national, traditional values and immorality”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
