Opposition, their affiliated groups moved to radical actions, which is manifested in the context of direct interference in the pre-election campaign - Givi Mikanadze

Opposition, the entities related to them have moved to radical actions, which is manifested in the context of direct interference in the pre-election campaign. Such a statement made today Givi Mikanadze, a member of the parliamentary majority.

At a briefing, he underlined several instances where opposition groups allegedly damaged Georgian Dream billboards and posters.

MP from the ruling party criticized the refusal of several TV channels, including TV Pirveli and Formula, to air Georgian Dream’s commercial ads, which he claims violated both the Communications Commission"s and the court"s decisions.

“The opposition, the subjects related to them, have moved to radical actions, which is manifested in the context of direct interference in the pre-election campaign. This especially concerns the damage to pre-election banners belonging to Georgian Dream and the non-launching of election ads.

On October 16, a member of the United National Movement, Mamuka Jevaishi, damaged two billboards of Georgian Dream in Sarfi village. Similarly, on October 15 in Kutaisi, opposition leaders Khatia Dekanoidze and Gigi Ugulava damaged billboards.

The opposition’s alleged actions are part of a systematic attempt to undermine Georgian Dream’s campaign.

I would like to call for local and international monitoring organizations to take note of these violations and properly reflect them in their reports”, - added Givi Mikanadze.
