Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, visited a hazelnut processing plant in Zugdidi.

The total investment into the enterprise makes up 31,766,000 GEL, with the share of a concessional agricultural loan constituting 11,500,000 GEL, and financing from the Rural Development Agency being 3,481,000 GEL. IG Agro LLC has also invested 19,110,000 GEL into the hazelnut plantations.

The hazelnut processing plant’s output is 4,000 tons.

The plant employs 59 permanent and 100 seasonal workers.

The enterprise pursues hazelnut export. So far, the company has exported 1,128 tons of hazelnuts.
