A large-scale fire in the occupied Abkhazia - the mandarin plantation in the Gali region is on fire. Besides, according to Konstantine Pilia, head of the area, an evacuation is planned for residents of the occupied region due to a rapidly spreading fire.

“The situation is serious. The fire is progressing rapidly, and we urge residents to remain cautious. Evacuation may become necessary, especially for those in higher areas. If the power goes out, do not panic; we have turned it off to prevent short circuits. Please stay updated through the news”, - he said.

Firefighters are battling the blaze, which reportedly started naturally and intensified due to the wind, with the epicentre located in the village of Makhunji. Local authorities of the occupied region warn that the fire could reach populated areas.
