Paralympic medalists Giga Ochkhikidze and Ana Japaridze were welcomed at Tbilisi airport upon their return from Paris, France.
“Thank you very much for all the love and support. I really didn’t expect such a reception. Congratulations, this medal belongs to Georgia”, - said Giga Ochkhikidze, the Paralympic champion in the Shot Put.
“It is very difficult for me to express my feelings in words. It is a great happiness when you bring the name of your country to such a level.
I am doubly happy because Georgians have never had such a result in para-taekwondo”, - added Ana Japaridze, who earned a bronze medal in taekwondo.
It should also be mentioned thay yesterday, September 3, Georgian para-athlete Nino Tibilashvili secured a victory against Brianna Vidy [France] with a score of 15:11 in the final block.
Tibilashvili is also the vice-champion of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
