Irakli Kobakhidze congratulates para taekwondo athlete Ana Japaridze on her bronze medal at the Paralympic Games

Prime Minister of Georgia congratulated para taekwondo athlete Ana Japaridze on her bronze medal at the Paralympic Games with a phone call. She thanked Irakli Kobakhidze for his support.

Ana Japaridze claimed bronze medal in the women’s 52kg division at the ongoing Summer Paralympic Games in Paris. She defeated Ali Abd Al Monem Hassan Salma of Egypt in the bronze medal match.

During the day, Japaridze defeated Meryem Betül Çavdar [Turkey], the vice-champion of the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, 7:6 to earn the spot in the semi-finals of the women’s 52kg division.

The Georgian athlete had advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Ariana Paola Aguila Ramos [US] 22:2.

Ana Japaridze is the 3rd Georgian female para athlete to win a medal at Paralympics along with Nina Tibilashvili and Ina Kaldani who are silver medalists.
