A Government Decree was approved at the meeting today, in line with which Olympians will receive promised bonuses. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“We have nominated Olympic champions and medalists for the highest awards. Champions are nominated for the Saint George Order of Victory, while the medalists are nominated for the Order of Honor.
Additionally, together with the Speaker of Parliament, we decided to nominate specific members of the Olympic team for the highest awards as well. These include Nino Salukvadze and Lasha Shavdatuashvili, who are nominated for the Saint George Order of Victory.
They are members of the Olympic team with outstanding achievements and both are holders of Olympic medals of all three categories, Olympic champions. They are also World and Olympic champions. For these exceptional achievements, they are nominated for the Saint George Order of Victory.
We also nominated Guram Tushishvili and Lasha Margvelashvili for the Order of Honor; they are Tokyo Olympic Games Vice-Champions. The coaches of the Olympic champions and medalists are also nominated for the Order of Honor. This includes team coaches and personal coaches-Lasha Gujejiani, Guram Modebadze, Omar Zhorzholiani, Ambako Avaliani, Giorgi Iantbelidze, David Khurtsia, Giorgi Asanidze, Avtandil Gakhokidze, Bezhan Chichinava, Ilia Tlashadze, Aleksi Ghviniashvili, Kakha Tsiklauri, Archil Baramidze, Levan Kobulashvili, Mirza Khabareli and Gia Oboladze.
I would like to thank each of them. We know how important the role of a coach is in an athlete’s success, and of course, each of them deserves the highest state awards for which they have been nominated”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
