Georgian polyphony, sports competitions, master classes of Georgian writing - the 6th week of the Georgian festival in Leuville estate has ended

The 6th week of the Georgian festival in Leuville estate has ended. Initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and supported by the Government of Georgia, the festive week began with a concert of pupils of Tsalenjikha, Lentekhi, Kharagauli, Kobuleti, Kvareli, Gori Salotbaro schools and the celebration continued with the concerts of folk ensemble “Lalkhori” and the Kutaisi Chamber Choir named after Ioseb Kechakmadze.

Guests saw Kutaisi Puppet Theater’s play “Ugly Duck’s Dirt”, which received widespread appreciation. Khridoli masters showed guests interesting tricks of this kind of Georgian martial arts. The festival’s guests met calligrapher Giorgi Sisauri, who conducted masterclasses on Georgian writing. The Georgian festival aroused the audience’s interest and deserved appreciation.

As it is known, every weekend from May 24 to July 14, Leuville’s homeland hosts a Georgian festival. The event is being held for the second time, and unlike the previous year, both its length and the number of participants have increased. Several foreigners or French citizens visit the festival every week. Georgian emigrants living in France are among the guests of the events.

More than 700 artists and sportsmen will participate in this year’s two-month festival, including folk and choreographic ensembles from different regions, municipal state theaters, and creative groups. Several sports (rugby, football, hairdressing, chess, Georgian martial arts) have competitions or exhibition dueling. For the first time, wood craftsmen, writers, and art academy students will participate in the festival.
