The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, highlighted the German Government’s “special efforts” in making Georgia a full-fledged member of the European family. He said this at the reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia, hosted in Berlin.
“Germany had always been actively involved in the development of the country after restoration of independence in 1991. Germany had always been a strong supporter of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
We are very happy with the fact that today in Berlin, with the participation of the Georgian Embassy and the participation of the Georgian Prime Minister, we have the opportunity to host our German friends, representatives of the Georgian diaspora at the event celebrating the Independence Day of Georgia.
It is symbolic that Germany is a symbol of unification, and we expressed our desire from Berlin to reunify Georgia very soon. There is no alternative to our peace policy, and we will do our best to make our country a united, unified member of the European family very soon.
Germany very deeply knew the challenges that Georgia is facing”, - said Ilia Darchiashvili.
