The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, said the number of domestic and international visits to the region had exceeded 4.6 million last year in a 20% increase compared to 2022.
As Tornike Rijvadze said, national revenues from tourism had exceeded USD 4 billion, with the region contributing to its increase with more than a 3rd of the overall number.

The sports infrastructure is really impressive. Batumi football stadium has hosted many international events, such as the UEFA European U-21 Championship, the [Championship] final and rugby matches, which is very important for the development of tourism…
The number of visits and flights to Batumi International Airport had also increased in 2023. The data of the 1st quarter of 2024 also showed an increased number of visits made by foreign visitors to the region. 363,021 tourist visits had been recorded in Adjara between January and March, which was +8.7% more than the same period of 2023, and marked a +44.2% increase compared to 2019”, - said Tornike Rijvadze.
