The special investigation service arrested one person for the disclosure of the secrets of the personal life of a 13-year-old girl

The Special Investigation Service arrested a 19-year-old man for the disclosure of the secrets of the personal life of a minor.

The investigation established that the accused used a false identity to introduce himself to a 13-year-old girl on the social media platform Facebook in April 2024. Their correspondence got intense shortly after they were introduced to one another. They maintained daily video chats on Facebook Messenger, during which the accused used blackmail and intimidation to force the victim to undress in front of him and threatened to hurt her family members.

Intimate video files of the 13-year-old girl were sent by the accused to the minor victim’s stepfather and 17-year-old sister in May 2024. He also threatened to make public, and private video recordings of the victim unless the victim’s sister undressed in front of him. Once the victim’s sister refused to comply with his illegal requests, the accused uploaded video files containing intimate content that was recorded via a video chat with the juvenile on the social networking site Facebook.

The Special Investigation Service launched an investigation promptly after receiving a report from the victim’s mother. A 13-year-old girl’s private video recordings were discovered during a personal search of the accused’s cell phone, and they were seized as evidence.

The accused is arrested for the crime under Article 1571 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. According to the court ruling, an arrest was established as a measure of restraint against him.

Crime envisages imprisonment for up to 7 years. The Special Investigation Service continues the investigation of the case.
