The White House is not planning to change its “general approach” towards allowing Ukraine to strike Russian territory with US weapons in the near future, but will continue to discuss this with the Ukrainian side. He noted that he would not make any announcements until decisions are made in the context of Ukraine’s strikes on Russia, but reminded that the US is changing and developing its support for Kyiv in line with the situation on the battlefield.

Kirby said he wouldn’t expect this general approach to change in the coming weeks and months, but added that “we’ll see how things go”.

The White House official said that the United States will continue to stay in close contact with the Ukrainian side to effectively meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield.
