Traffic in Tbilisi will be restricted to facilitate preparations for the annual Independence Day celebrations on Sunday.
According to the Tbilisi City Hall, traffic would be prohibited on Freedom Square, the adjacent Rustaveli Avenue and First Republic Square.
On the First Republic Square, drivers will be restricted from turning right in the direction of Kostava Street until May 27.
On Rustaveli Avenue, the limitations will apply on the section from First Republic Square to Freedom Square from Thursday [May 23] to Friday [May 24].
Both on Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square, traffic will not be possible between midnight on Saturday [May 25] and 7 am on May 27, with movement possible up to the First Republic Square and the ramp at the Baratashvili Bridge.
Motorists heading to the streets of Mtatsminda district will be diverted from Melikishvili Avenue to Janashia, Tarkhnishvili, Chovelidze and Zandukeli streets and further using Barnovi, Gogebashvili and Kakabadze streets.
Traffic will be restricted from Kote Apkhazi and Dadiani streets in the direction of Freedom Square, with movement allowed through Leonidze, Ingorokva, Chavchavadze, Griboedovi, Baratashvili and Tabukashvili streets.
Drivers heading to Melikishvili Avenue and Metro Rustaveli area will be diverted to Griboedovi, Makashvili, Barnovi and Shanidze streets.
Public transport heading to Freedom Square from the Rustaveli metro station adjacent area will move through Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of River Mtkvari.
Those heading from Gorgasali Street to Baratashvili Street will move through Europe Square connecting to Baratashvili Street via the left bank of Mtkvari and Baratashvili Bridge.
