The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia responds to the recent developments at the rallies near the Parliament.

As Vakhtang Gomelauri noted, the police were careful to act within the law during the demonstrations and attempted to avoid clashes to prevent injuries.

“We have been watching at least half of the facts live on air. What they were doing, conversations, coups, upheavals, takeovers and overturns. They can turn over or overturn their offices but stay away from the parliament and other state agency buildings.

We saw young people breaking doors and setting fire to the parliament. Not a single policeman intervened to avoid clashes and injuries. We considered this as much as possible”, - said the Minister.
