The employees of the Special Investigation Service detained the employee of the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the facts of violence and threat.

The investigation established that the accused was systematically abusing his wife, and after breaking up with her, from December 2022 to April 2024, during telephone communication, as well as by sending voice messages through the Internet application, the law enforcement officer systematically threatened to take the lives of the victim and her family members. On August 22, 2023, the accused wrote a threatening text on the gate of the victim’s residence and left an ammunition cartridge there for intimidation. In addition, on October 25, 2023, the accused had a conflict with the victim concerning taking away his son, threatened to take the victim’s life by demonstrating a firearm, and fired three times as a sign of threat and left the crime scene. Also, on March 29, 2024, the accused sent voice messages to the victim through the “WhatsApp” application, where he again threatened to take the victim’s life.

After receiving the report of the female victim, the Special Investigation Service conducted urgent investigative activities. Witnesses were interviewed, the crime scene was inspected, physical evidence and electronic information were obtained and on April 10, 2024, the law enforcement officer was detained on charges of domestic violence and threat.

Crime envisages imprisonment for up to 2 years.

The law enforcement officer will be charged within 48 hours. The Special Investigation Service continues the investigation of the case.
