Within the framework of the “Save Nature – Georgia” project, another quality control station was launched in Telavi

Representatives of the Swedish Embassy attended the opening ceremony of an air quality monitoring station in Telavi.

Air pollution reduction is one of the most important issues for human health and healthy ecosystems.

With support from Sweden the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture with its Biodiversity department, Agency for Protected Areas, National Environmental Agency, National Wildlife Agency are implementing a project aimed at establishing a modern air quality system in Georgia. New automatic stations are already located in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Akhalstikhe, Kutaisi and Batumi, and, from today, there will be an air quality station in operation in Telavi.

Ensuring open access to air quality data for the public is crucial, thus the data obtained from the stations are published on the web portal: www.air.gov.ge
