The Ambassador of Germany to Georgia, Peter Fischer, came to the April 9 memorial and paid tribute to the memory of those who died for the unity of Georgia.

“Today we remember the Georgians who fought and suffered for independence and peace. This happened half a year before the fall of the Berlin Wall in Germany.

So you fought for democracy and independence the way we did in Germany. Freedom, democracy and independence are a permanent obligation for us, for everyone”, - said the Ambassador.
