The residents have been temporarily accommodated in hotels due to an explosion in a residential building on Samtredia Street in Tbilisi.

The explosion occurred early in the morning. The building houses 93 families, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Evacuation measures were undertaken, ensuring the affected population’s safety.

The current status of the building is under assessment to determine whether residents can return to their homes or if temporary relocation will be necessary until the building undergoes necessary strengthening measures.

According to the preliminary investigations, the explosion may have been caused by a natural gas leak.
