When we see that criminals move freely in Europe, what should we do - keep quiet?! The solution is not to be silent, silenced or censored, but to speak openly - those who violate the sanctions imposed by Georgia must stop violating the sanctions and hand over the culprits to us! Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Parliament, while talking about Zurab Adeishvili.

“It is important for the Government of Georgia to clearly state its position related to the reception of the criminal offender in Berlin and Brussels at a high diplomatic level. I remind the public that it was not just his presence in the Bundestag or just a meeting with one representative in the European Commission - it was a series of meetings.

Adeishvili participated in the meetings with the Minister of Justice of Germany, the Prosecutor General, the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, in the meeting held in the Legal Affairs Committee. In Brussels, he participated in a meeting with the Commissioner for Justice, in the meeting with the European Commissioner and the heads of various directorates.

Of course, such meetings serve to reinforce and raise questions about how committed some European bureaucrats are to the values we and the EU share in terms of the rule of law. This goes against the nine priorities - the first priority is about disinformation.

What disinformation is, if not when Adeishvili is presented as a person with whom it is possible to talk at a high diplomatic level and his meetings are presented in a normal context...

Instead of the Georgian people hearing concerns from the embassies of the EU and Germany that such meetings took place, the statements left the impression that there was an attempt to normalize the meetings with Adeishvili.

This is absolutely unacceptable. I am very sorry that the embassies had such a reaction to the right protest of the public. The Georgian people expect that the values that we share and that we strive for in the EU will also be shared in all European capitals, at all levels, and there will be responses”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
