The employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi and Adjara Police Departments, as a result of the operative measures and investigative actions conducted in the recent period, arrested 8 people on charges of drug-related crimes.

The following persons are arrested on the facts of illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs, as well as psychotropic substances and preparation for their illegal sale, illegal purchase and storage of marijuana, and attempted selling: G.B. (DoB 1975), K.Ch. (DoB 1995), J.K. (DoB 2001), O.S. (DoB 2002), D.G. (DoB 1999), Belarusian citizen M.M. (DoB 1985) and previously convicted N.Z (DoB 1981) and G.G. (DoB 2001).

As a result of the personal search, vehicles, residential apartments, the law enforcement officers also seized various types of narcotics as evidence as well as from the locations indicated by the detainees.

The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

The employees of the Central Criminal Police Department, as a result of search activities held in the residential apartment of O.S. law enforcers seized narcotic drugs Cocaine, Mdma, Marijuana, Ecstasy, LSD, Psilocybin and psychotropic substance Ketamine as evidence.

Employees of Isani-Samgori police main division of Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of a personal search of G.G. in Tbilisi, as well as from various locations indicated by him, seized 12 packages of marijuana as evidence. In the course of investigation, it was established that the accused person sold drugs through social application “Telegram”. As a result of the personal search of J.K., arrested by the same division 34 packages of narcotic drug “Methadone” was seized as evidence, which the accused planned to place in different locations for further sale.

Employees of Gldani-Nadzaladevi Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department in Tbilisi, as a result of the search of the temporary residential apartment of G.B. and K.Ch. and from the locations specified by them, the narcotic drugs Alpha PVP and Mephedrone prepared for sale, as well as the substance containing the psychotropic drug Ketamine were seized as evidence. Narcotics ready for sale were seized by the police from G.B. as a result of the search of the vehicle. In addition, materials necessary for drug packing and handling, namely, electric scales were also detected from the temporary residential apartment of the defendants.

Employees of the main division of Gldani-Nadzaladevi police, as a result of the personal search of D.G. - law enforcement officers seized 26 packages of narcotic drug Alpha PVP packaged for sale as evidence. In addition, during the investigative experiment conducted by the police, from the locations indicated by the detainee, police removed 9 more packages of narcotics placed for sale as evidence. As a result of personal search of N.Z. – arrested by the same division, 8 packs of narcotic drug Alpha PVP were seized as evidence.

From M.M. who was arrested by the employees of Adjara Police Department, and as a result of the search of his residential apartment, a particularly large amount of narcotic drug "methadone" prepared for sale was seized as evidence as well as from the locations indicated by him. Materials needed for drug packaging and electric scales were also detected from the apartment.

The investigation is being conducted under articles 260, 18-260, 261, 18-261, as well as articles 273 and 19-273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
