The Georgian parliamentary delegation completes its visit to Brussels

The Georgian parliamentary delegation has completed its visit to Brussels. The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and the Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songulashvili participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the EU held in the European Parliament within the presidency of the Council of European Union.

The agenda included the economic security and competitiveness in the EU, higher efficiency of a uniform market, budget management upon crisis, the future of the Economic and Monetary Union, facilitation of employment and the improvement of social investments, as well as the rights of the employees and addressing the “brain drain”.

In her speech, Botchorishvili noted that Georgia has an ambition to be one of the success models within the EU enlargement policy despite the acute geopolitical challenges in the region.

The Conference, hosted by the EU president country – Belgium – was held on February 12-13 in Brussels and was attended by MPs from the EU member and candidate states and the representatives of the EU institutions.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis addressed the attendees.
