We will attend the session only because, unlike Salome Zourabishvili, we respect the constitution. Such a statement made Givi Mikanadze, a member of the parliamentary majority, while talking about the President’s report today.

“The ruling team will attend this session only for the reason that, unlike Salome Zourabichvili, we respect the constitution. As for expectations, we cannot have any expectations from a person who blatantly violates the constitution and publicly declared that the country did not deserve the candidate status for EU membership.

Our attendance at the session is due to the only reason - our team’s loyalty and respect to the supreme law, the constitution, and accordingly, we will attend this session.

The President does not fit into any context of neutrality. For almost a year, she has been entirely within the context of the radical opposition narrative. We expect that shortly before the elections, she will likely resign and join one of the opposition unions, thereby trying to mislead the public to some extent that it is some other force and not the United National Movement.

All the forces with which Salome Zurabishvili’s next coalition can be considered – be it the UNM, Lelo, [Nika] Gvaramia, or [Giorgi] Gakharia - are a unit that together represent the UNM”, - said Givi Mikanadze.
