The case of stalking against a teacher of a public school to be heard in court today. Yesterday the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged 1 person with the fact of stalking.

As per the findings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" investigation, a public school teacher in one of the villages of Terjola municipality has done a systematic attempt between 2021 and 2023 period to create unprofessional and undesired communication with his colleague. In particular, the accused persistently asked the victim to have with him the sexual relationship, and despite categorical refusal, he continued to try to get closer to her. The victim was forced to significantly change his usual way of life and take a decision to go on a long unpaid leave from work.

The school teacher was charged under the first part of Article 151 Prima of the Criminal Code of Georgia (persecution that caused the victim’s mental suffering and fear of violence).
