The Ministry of Health started issuing medicines for patients diagnosed with cancer. Beneficiaries of the state healthcare program will receive the needed amount of Swiss-produced medications for free.
The agency purchased 13 medicines for oncology diseases from the leading pharmaceutical company, Roche [Ministry signed a contract with Roche in November 2023 and continues negotiations with other leading pharmaceutical companies to make medicines more accessible for Georgian patients].
Besides, the agency has broadened the range of medications available for chronic illnesses and has allocated a larger budget to the program. This will enable up to 400,000 individuals to receive full financial coverage for their chronic disease treatments.
